The Problem: Finding Support Shouldn’t Be the Hard Part
Mental health resources aren’t missing. They’re scattered across websites, departments, forms, and office hours, often with no clear place to start.
For students, this can mean searching through multiple sites while trying to understand what support is available and which options fit their needs.
Fort provides one digital front door to campus and external resources, presented in plain language. Students don’t have to know exactly what they need before they get there.
What is Fort?
Fort is a digital platform that helps students discover relevant support, reflect on their well-being, and see how their needs change over time.
The platform includes:
- 120+ resources in one place: A curated library covering stress, academics, sleep, mood, connection, substance use, crisis support, and other well-being needs.
- Practical search and filtering: Resources are tagged by factors such as cost, access format, time commitment, intended audience, and level of support, helping students narrow the library to options that fit.
- Personalized recommendations: Check-in responses are matched to resources using evidence-based guidelines defined with experts from the U-Flourish research team, and complemented by Artificial Intelligence.
- Research-backed wellbeing check-ins: Brief questionnaires help students reflect on how they are feeling and identify relevant areas of support.
- Results, trends, and personal notes: Students can view their check-in results, look back at changes over time, and record their own reflections.

Built with Students, Backed by Research
Fort was co-designed with post-secondary students to make finding support feel relevant and easy to navigate. Student feedback helped shape the interface, check-in experience, and presentation of results, with personal notes highlighted as a particularly valued feature.
Resource matching draws on evidence-based guidelines developed with the U-Flourish research team. Students’ check-in responses remain private and are not added to their academic or medical records.
Current Pilot
Fort recently launched as a pilot at Queen’s University. Registration is currently limited to students with a Queen’s email address.
The Team
Fort was built by the Centre for Digital Therapeutics at University Health Network and MEMOTEXT, in collaboration with the U-Flourish research team. It is currently being piloted at Queen’s University.
