The Problem: Navigating Digital Health Tools for IBS
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a complex condition that often requires ongoing self-management across diet, mental health, and symptom tracking.
While a growing number of digital health apps are available to support IBS management, patients and clinicians face challenges:
- Difficulty identifying credible and relevant apps
- Lack of centralized, trusted sources for digital tools
- Limited guidance on which apps align with individual symptoms and needs
The challenge is not availability – it is discoverability, trust, and personalization.
Why Health App Finder?
Health App Finder is a secure, web-based platform designed to help individuals living with IBS, as well as care providers, and clinicians discover, evaluate, and navigate digital health applications.
Developed in collaboration with the University of Calgary and IMAGINE SPOR, the platform serves as a centralized, curated directory of IBS-related apps, enabling users to find tools tailored to their specific needs.
The platform provides:
- Searchable app directory with filters based on functionality (e.g., symptom tracking, mental health, community support)

- User ratings and reviews to support informed decision-making
