The Problem: Caregiver Visibility & Aging at Home
As populations age, the demand for caregiver support continues to grow.
By 2030, 9.5 million Canadians will be aged 65+, representing approximately 20% of the population. Many of these individuals wish to remain in their homes, while caregivers are often unable to provide continuous, in-person support.
Caregivers face challenges including:
- Limited visibility into the daily health and well-being of loved ones
- Inability to respond quickly when issues arise
- Difficulty coordinating care and support services remotely
At the same time, healthcare systems must balance patient safety with limited in-person interactions, particularly in the context of infection control and capacity constraints.
The challenge is maintaining continuous, reliable support while enabling independence at home.
