MEMOTEXT announces novel digital mental health engagement booster tool co-created with CAMH and the University of Saskatchewan to help navigate virtual and digital mental health supports.

Toronto March 2022, MEMOTEXT Corporation, Canada’s leading platform for the development, validation and commercialization of digital patient engagement communications announces a new collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) to launch and commercialize a newly co-created mental health text-messaging-based program that promotes curated mental health resources and provides wellness supports to users. Validated in an ongoing Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR)-funded study, based on the Sask BeWell program, the intervention also allows employers and educational institutions to promote engagement with their own eligible mental health benefits. Despite continued stress, isolation, anxiety, and depression related to the ongoing pandemic, engagement with mental health services and use of digital mental health supports is still underutilized by employees and students. A study by Oracle demonstrates that 79% of employees want technology to better support mental health both inside and outside of the workplace. Overwhelming information and misinformation also contributes to the strain associated with our new pandemic lifestyle. “We’re not trying to re-invent the wheel, we’re just adding an engine to existing mental health engagement with an Inclusive text messaging program that provides mental health support to multiple populations. As we’ve been validating this tool, it’s become obvious how necessary this kind of engagement has become,” says MEMOTEXT CEO Amos Adler. BeWell is a light-touch check-in and recommendation tool designed to combat misinformation about COVID-19 alongside the increasing need for mental health supports and resources. The program features routine rapid mental health screening, brief, automated check-ins and the delivery of personalized, curated digital tools, wellness supports and interventions for which users are already eligible Co-created by The University of Saskatchewan, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and MEMOTEXT Corp, the secure mental health check-in, support and recommendation tool was developed based on a CIHR funded research grant with Dr. Tracie Risling and Dr. Gillian Strudwick. About the Centre for Addition and Mental Health (CAMH) CAMH is Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital and a world leading research centre in this field.
